Hint: According to given in the question we have to find the round off the nearest tens, hundreds, thousands and, ten thousands places of the given number \[964\]. So, first of all we have to find the ones place of the given number and after finding the ones place of the given number now we will find the tens place of the given number and again same as we find the tens place of the given number now, we will find hundreds place of the given number and same as now, we have to find the thousand place of the given number.
Now, as we have obtained all the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousand places.
For the rounding off to tens:
If its digit at its ones place is equal to 5 for greater than 5 so, we replace the tens digit by adding 1 and ones digits by 0 and if its digit at its one place is less than 5 So, we replace the digit at ones digits by 0 and keep the other digits as they are.
For the rounding off to hundreds:
If its digit at its tens and ones place in a combine form is equal to 50 for greater than 50 so, we replace the hundreds digit by adding 1 and ones and tens digits by 0 and if its digit at tens and ones place in a combine form is less 50 ,we replace the digit at at tens and ones place by 0 and keep the other digits as they are.
For the rounding off to thousand:
If its digit at its hundreds, tens and ones place in a combine form is equal to 500 or greater than 500 so, we replace the thousands place digit by adding 1 and hundreds, ones and tens digits by 0 and if its digit at hundreds, tens and ones place in a combine form is less 50 ,we replace the digit at hundreds, tens and ones place by 0 and keep the other digits as they are.

Complete step by step answer:
Round off to nearest ten:
First of all we have to find the one place of the given number \[964\] which is \[4\] and the tens place of the given number is \[6\].
As we can see that the digit at one place is less than 5. Hence, we have to replace the ones digits by \[0\] and keep the remaining digits as it is.
So, Round off the given number \[964\] to the nearest ten is \[960\].

Round off to nearest hundred:
Now, we have to find the ones, tens, and hundreds place of the given number the one place of the given number \[964\] the digit at ones place is \[4\] and the tens place of the given number is \[6\]and the hundred place of the given number is \[9\].
As we can see that the digit at its tens and ones place in a combined form is greater than 50 so, we replace the hundreds digit by adding 1 and ones and tens digits by 0.
So, Round off the given number \[964\] to the nearest hundred is\[1000\].

Round off to nearest thousand:
Now, we have to find the ones, tens, and hundreds and the thousands place of the given number. The given number\[964\], the digit at one place is \[4\] and the tens place of the given number is \[6\]and the hundred place of the given number is\[9\].
As we can see that the digit at its hundreds, tens and ones place in a combine form is greater than 500 so, we replace the thousands place digit by adding 1 and hundreds, ones and tens digits by 0 The given number \[964\] is much nearer to \[1000\] then \[900\].
So, Round off the given number \[964\] to the nearest hundred is \[1000\].

Note: Students should note that the round off error cannot be more than the place value of the decimal place nearest to which is the rounding done, i.e. if a number is rounded off to nearest 10, then the round of error cannot be more than 10. This can be done to verify whether the rounding off was correctly done or not.
