Mughal garden were made by the Mughal kings , taking inspiration from presian gardens specifically Charbagh structure. Their layouts are rectilinear and made within the enclosed wall. Some particular features are pools, fountains and canals inside the garden. Mughal gardens are commonly found in India, Pakistan , Bangladesh and Afghanistan. These gardens are different from the gardens of Central Asia with respect to highly disciplined geometry.
Babur was the founder of the mughal empire and the first mughal king who built a mughal garden in India. He described Charbagh as his favorite type of garden . For gardens they use the term bagh or bagicha . He built the first Mughal garden in Dholpur and Lahore . After him Akbar , his grandson built several gardens and his first garden he built in Delhi. And when Agra became his new capital he built gardens there too. Then Jahangir , son of Akbar did not build so many gardens but made his contribution by laying out the famous garden Shalimar . Then Jahangir's son Shah Jahan constructed the apex mughal garden Taj Mahal in the memory of his favorite beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal .
