The introduction of English Education was a significant event of Lord William Bentinck's administration. He appointed a committee headed by Lord Macaulay to make recommendations for the promotion of education. So, The Process of the introduction of English Education was initiated in India by “Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay” in 1835. And English was made the official language for Government (Legislature and Executive), Courts (Judiciary) and Official Medium of Education. English Schools were established in districts like Delhi and Banaras to Teach English to the people in India.

In 1833, the Charter act was renewed in the British Parliament which incorporated certain provisions relating to education. Such as-
