Hint: India receives an average rainfall of 300–650 millimetres (11.8–25.6 in) every year. Most of the country receives rainfall under southwest monsoon while a few parts also receive rainfall under northeast monsoons.

Complete answer: India is a huge country because of which, while some parts of the country receive heavy rainfall , others receive scanty rainfall. Distribution of rainfall is different in different regions as factors like temperature, humidity, ocean current , distance inland from the coast and mountain ranges, vary from region to region.
Let us look at the options given to us-
Option A- Rajasthan is the correct answer. While west Rajasthan receives around 313m rainfall every year, east Rajasthan receives an average of 675mm rainfall every year. Rajasthan mostly has arid climate and has the Thar desert and a part of the Aravali ranges.
Option B- Assam receives an average of 2818mm rainfall every year.
Option C-Arunachal Pradesh receives an average of 2782mm rainfall every year.
Option D-Himachal Pradesh receives an average of 1251mm rainfall every year.

Therefore the correct answer is option A-Rajasthan.

Note: Mawsynram , in east Khasi hills of Meghalaya, receives the highest rainfall in India. On the other hand, places like Jaiselmar and Leh receive the lowest rainfall in India. These places receive less than 50cm rainfall every year.
