Hint: The context of the above question is given in the chapter “Gopal and the Hilsa Fish”. The theme of the story is that nothing is impossible in the world. Intelligence and smartness can help people achieve everything in the world.

Complete answer:
Gopal was a courtier of the King. It was the season of Hilsa fish and therefore, everybody in the kingdom only discussed the fish. The king got annoyed by listening to the talks about fish over and over again and vented his anger on one of his courtiers. Soon, on realising his mistake, the king apologised and challenged Gopal. Gopal’s challenge was to buy a large hilsa fish and take it to the palace without anyone asking anything about it.

A few days later Gopal got ready to go to the market to purchase the fish. Three things that he did before going to buy Hilsa were as follows:
- He shaved only half of his beard.
- He coloured his face with ash.
- He wore rags to the market.

Also, when he reached the court with the fish, he started singing and dancing loudly. Everybody from the market to the court thought him to be a madman. King was compelled to call him inside only to realise it was Gopal who had won his challenge.

Note: It's a humorous story similar to the stories of witty Birbal. It can be concluded that Gopal was very Brave, clever and who doesn’t hate to take up challenges. The Hilsa fish is a popular fish in India during the monsoon season.
