Hint: We are given a diagram and we have to find points , a line, three rays and five line segments from it for this first we will observe the diagram and find the different terms for this we will understand the definition of these terms which help us in identifying them
1) Point: A point is an exact position or location on a plane surface. It has no dimensions. Points are usually named by upper-case single letters.
2) Line segment: The part of a line that connects two points. It is the shortest distance between the two points. It has lengths. Adding the word segment is important because a line normally extends in both directions without end but a line segment has definite end points
3) Line: A line can be defined as a straight one dimensional figure that has no thickness and extends endlessly in both directions. In both directions endlessly upto infinity.
4) Rays: A part of a line with a start point but no end point it goes to infinity.
By using the above terms it will be easier for us to identify the terms from the diagram.
Complete step-by-step solution:
Step1: From the above given diagram We have to find the point as we know that the point just shows the location of any point here in the diagram we have to find five points. Here five points are . As these all shows the location.$D,E,O,C,B$
Step2: Now we have to find a line. As we know that a line doesn't have any fix points and can be extended in both directions infinitely. In the diagram the line formed is $DB$ only as from these points it can be extended in both directions infinitely. Hence the line is $DB$.
Step3: We have to find three rays as we know that the ray is a line that has a start point but no end point from the other end it can be extended infinitely. In the diagram $OC$ in this it can be extended from $C$ in $OB$ it can be extended from $B$. And it can be extended from $D$. Hence three rays are $OB,OC,OD$.
Step4: We have to find five line segments as we know line segments have fixed points and cannot be extended further from any side. In the diagram the line segment between fixed points are $DE,EO,OC,OB,OD$
Step5: Final answer: Hence five points are $D,E,O,C,B$. A line is$DB$. Three rays are $OB,OC,OD$
And line segments are $DE,EO,OC,OB,OD$
Note: In such types of questions in which we have to solve by observing the diagram and identify the terms for this first revise the definitions of the terms that have to be identified by doing this the chances of making mistakes become very less as the concepts get renewed in our mind and we can easily identify the terms. In this students mainly don’t remember the concepts of the terms that to be identified. Students always get confused between line and line segment. Line can be extended in both directions; it has no fixed points but in line segments as the word segment is added it indicates that it has definite end points.
