Hint: We know that here Real boundary is related to the context of thermodynamics, so we will define the boundary concept using the thermodynamics. To solve this question, we should recall the concepts of system and surroundings.
Complete answer:
In physics, Thermodynamics is a branch that deals with the study of heat, work done, temperature, volume changes, and energy of a given system.
Whenever we examine the thermodynamics properties of a system we want it to be unaffected by the remaining universe outside the system so that the results of any physics of the system don’t change unwillingly. In order to do so, a separation wall or boundary is used to make a separation between the system and the remaining universe, and that particular boundary that separates the system and the universe is known as Real Boundary.
For example, the water in the glass where we consider water as a system whose thermodynamics we want to study and Glass is used as a real boundary that separates the water which is a system, and the remaining universe. The Boundary is very necessary to study the thermodynamics of a system in order to prevent any unnecessary effects of the universe on the system.
Hence, A real Boundary separates the system and universe in order to study the thermodynamics of the system carefully and accurately.
Note: It should be remembered that there is also a flexible boundary whose purpose is to change the position and hence change the volume of the system as per the needs for example the movable piston of a cylinder can change the volume of the system as per our needs.
