White light can be produced by a variety of sources both in space and also by artificial sources on earth. White light is a combination of seven different colors or rather seven different wavelengths.

Dispersion of light in a prism results in the formation of a spectrum. This color formation is similar to rainbow formation in which tiny water droplets are behaving like a small prism.
