If nails are made out of plastic, they cannot be used for its usual purposes. They could not be hammered like iron nails and could not possess the strength which iron nails have. It means they would have no strength to hold the things together.
In case nails are made of plastic they won't develop any longer since plastics don't develop. If chime is made of wood then it won't create sound since it's non-metal and nonmetal are non-resonating. Wood is limited, so if a blade is made of wood things can't be cut. We can't cut things whenever the hatchet is made of elastic.
