Henle’s loop has a descending and an ascending limb. The descending limb is permeable to water but it is impermeable to an electrolyte, whereas the ascending limb is permeable to electrolytes but is impermeable to water. Since the electrolytes get reabsorbed in the ascending loop of Henle, the filtrate gets diluted because it moves towards the ascending limb.

The cells of the ascending limb actively reabsorb the solutes from the luminal fluid and are impermeable to water.
