Hint: Jaundice is the most common of all liver problems. Jaundice can also be caused by other diseases like malaria, hepatitis, and gallstones.

Complete Answer:
- The term Jaundice is used to describe the yellowing of skin and the whiteness of the eyes. It is caused by buildup of a substance called bilirubin in the blood and body tissues.
- Any condition that disrupts the movement of bilirubin from the blood to the liver and then out of the body, can cause jaundice.
- Following are the ways that buildup bilirubin in the body. If red blood cells are broken down too early, the spleen gets overloaded. Hence too much bilirubin is produced. Unprocessed bilirubin accumulates in the bloodstream and eventually the skin and the eyes turn yellow.
- This condition is called hemolytic anemia. The main symptoms of jaundice are yellow discoloration of the eyes and of skin, the pale colored stools (faeces) and dark colored urine.
The most common cause of jaundice is gallstone in the common bile duct.

Some underlying conditions that may cause jaundice are:
(a) Acute inflammation of the liver.
(b) Inflammation of the bile duct.
(c) Obstruction of the bile duct.
(d) Hemolytic anemia

- The weils diseases; i.e. the bacterial diseases, spread through the urine of infected people. Jaundice is also of a similar kind.
- It is contracted through contact with contaminated soil or water as well as contact with blood, urine, or the other tissues of animals that have the disease.

Therefore, the answer is (A) Water.

Note: High blood bilirubin is further divided into two types. Unconjugated bilirubin and conjugated bilirubin.
- Drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day helps prevent Jaundice and many other diseases.
