Hint: Four states of India share a border with Pakistan. The total length of the India Pakistan border is 3323 km.

Complete Answer:The four Indian states that share a border with Pakistan are - Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. 1,50,000 flood lights have been installed by India along the border and because of this the border is even visible from space. Apart from this it is also considered one of the most dangerous borders of the world because of the tension between India and Pakistan.

Zero Point is the starting point of the border which lies between Gujarat in India and Sindh province in Pakistan.

Jammu and Kashmir shares the longest border with Pakistan which has a length of 1222 km. Jammu and Kashmir is followed by Rajasthan which has a length of 1179 km, after this comes Gujarat with 506 km and finally Punjab with 425 km long border. The border begins at the Line of Control (LoC) and it goes upto Sir Creek in Rann of Kutch.

The border was created by Sir Cyril Radcliffe on 17 August, 1947 and therefore it is also known as the Radcliffe Line. However the Line of Control came into being on 2nd July, 1972 after the ratification of the Shimla Treaty.

Therefore the correct answer is option D.

Note: Two treaties have been signed regarding the border, these are - Karachi Agreement (1949) and Shimola Agreement (1972) the Line Of Control (LoC) which separates Kashmir between India and Pakistan is not an internationally recognized border.
