Complete answer:
The Greek War of independence is also known as the Greek Revolution which was known as a successful war of independence fought against the Ottoman Empire during the period of 1821 to 1830. In the 15th century Greece was under the control of the Ottoman rule as they were unsuccessful at that time but the war during the period of 1821 and 1829 was a successful war of independence.

The growth of the revolutionary nationalism which occurred in Europe increased the motivation for struggle amongst the Greeks. In this the nationalists of Greece supported the other Greeks who were living in exile and also included many West Europeans who possessed great sympathies for the Greek culture. The result of this war led to the establishment of an independent Greek state with Britain, Russia and France as its great influencer in the Greek politics.

In the end the Ottoman Empire collapsed despite the small size of the Greek state and the Christians achieved independence. With the passage of time the Serbs, Bulgarians, Albanians, Romanians and Armenians fought for their independence and achieved it.

The first king of Greece was Prince Otto from Bavaria.
The most popular work by Nikolas Mantzaros was the composition of the music named Hymn to Liberty which was made the national anthem of Greece in the year 1865.
