School Tour to Amer
By Navita
India is famous all over the world for her temples and historical monuments. Last week, our school organized an Academic tour to Amer Fort, Rajasthan. It was a one day trip of 150 students with few teachers and staff members.
The marvellous state of Rajasthan is known as the ‘Land of Kings’. Enriched with plenty of architectural marvels that gives not only an idea about the lifestyle of the rulers of the ancient era but also portrays the artistic designs of the past. Amer Fort is one of the most beautiful monuments in Rajasthan situated almost 11 kms away from Jaipur City. It is also known as Amber Fort and is built by Raja Man Singh. It is located next to the astonishing Maota Lake. The Amer Fort is a fine piece of art from the medieval Rajput style of architecture. The right combination of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles is a fascinating feature of Amer Fort. The beautiful palace compound was once used as the main residence of the Rajput Maharajas. The fort is a mixture of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. The fort is divided into four distinct sections, each with its own entrance gate and courtyard. The Sural Pole (Sun Gate) is the main entry gate and it leads everyone to Jaleb Chowk, the first main courtyard. Amber Fort contains Jai Mandir which is enriched with beautiful glass inlaid panels and mirrored ceilings, also known as Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace). It provides an extreme picturesque view of the Maota Lake. Opposite the Jai Mandir, there is Sukh Niwas (Hall of Pleasure). A door made of exotic sandalwood leads to this palace. The “Magic Flower” is the main sense of attraction here. The aura of this huge fort-palace complex is unparalleled. The inner walls boast enchanting paintings and carvings, precious stones and mirror setting while the fort is surrounded by rugged terrain from the outside which has an unusual beauty of its own.
Another exciting experience in Amer Fort was the ‘Light and Sound show’. In the evening, the light and sound show marvels everyone with its fascinating show. The narrator takes everyone through the history of the Rajputs. Sounds of galloping horses, elephants, wars, etc make one feel to be present in the bygone era.
When the fort is exited, everyone is left with the realization of the rich culture India has.
Note: The report should include details of the sights observed. It should always be written in past tense. The first paragraph should be introductory while the last one should conclude everything written.
