These are the events that end up in sudden disruption of a traditional lifetime of a society, causing damage to life and property to such an extent that standard social and economic values available are inadequate to revive normalcy after a disaster. Disaster includes earthquakes, cyclones, hurricanes, drought, flood and much more.

Disaster management is the management of responsibilities and resources during an emergency situation for humanitarian welfare to control the impact of the disasters. The disaster can be man made eg pollution or natural eg cyclones, earthquake, hurricanes, drought, flood etc.
The people living in the affected zone are the first to be affected hence they are a preference to be rescued safely from the area. Disaster management involves— It means endless process of designing, organising, coordinating and implementing measures which are-

These involve the following—
1. Prevention means by taking some measures a disease can be prevented.
2. Reduction of risk of any disaster.

• disaster preparedness— this involves all the prior information and knowledge given by the government to the individuals about the disasters and the recovery associated.
• disaster response— this involves all the services provided for the assistance and safety of the individual. It involves relocating people from a danger site to safety and providing them with the basic necessities possible.
• disaster recovery— this process goes beyond the immediate relief. It involves rebuilding of the community and infrastructure on the affected site.
