Using the definition of prime numbers, we can say that numbers having factors only 1 and the number itself are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43 and 47

Students can write the numbers that are not prime i.e. are composite i.e. have factors other than 1 and the number and then write the list of prime numbers by deducting prime numbers from numbers in the list from 1 to 50.
Composite numbers from 1 to 50 are 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 42, 44, 45, 46, 48, 49 and 50.
So we remove these numbers from 1 to 50 and get list of prime numbers
