Hint: Acid rain can be described as any form of precipitation with high levels of nitric and sulphuric acids. It can form rain, snow, fog and tiny bits of dry material that settle to earth. Acid rain is caused due to natural and anthropogenic reasons. It causes damage to almost everything and causes an imbalance in the environment.

Complete answer:
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it has elevated levels of hydrogen ions (low pH). It can have harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infrastructure.
Effect of acid rain on aquatic organisms:
-It changes the pH of the water.
-Fishes cannot tolerate the changed pH, resulting in the death of the fishes.
-As the pH decreases the fish eggs cannot hatch.
-As the pH becomes acidic there will be release of aluminium which is directly toxic to fishes.
-It also affects the aquatic plants.Biodiversity of the water body is reduced.
Effect of acid rain on human beings:
-Acid rain causes respiratory problems, asthma, dry coughs, headaches and throat irritations.
-It causes skin burns and other skin problems.
-Consuming the toxins released due to the acid rain effects can cause poisoning.
-The pH is reduced and the acidic pH can cause imbalance.

Note:
Brain damage, kidney problems and Alzheimer’s disease has been linked with the intake of
toxins which has been leached out due to acid rain and has been dissolved in plants and
other animals.
