Hint- There are three types of the amines: primary amine, secondary amine, and tertiary amine. Primary amine has one alkyl group attached and two hydrogen atoms, secondary amines have two alkyl groups attached and tertiary amines have three alkyl groups attached.
Complete step by step solution:
> For IUPAC naming the amines-
> For primary amines:
Primary amines are named by adding the suffix ‘amine’ to the alkyl name and the number which is placed in front of the name denotes the location of the amine group that means it denotes at what carbon the amine group is attached.
> For secondary and tertiary amines:
Secondary and tertiary will be having some additional alkyl group attached to the nitrogen. These will be listed in the alphabetical order with another substituent from the alkyl chain. Here numbers denote side chains from the alkyl group, whereas the prefix ‘N’ denotes a substituent from the nitrogen atom.
So, after getting the concept of types of amines and nomenclature of the amines we will prepare a table for the above problem to solve:
Note – In our body there are some molecules such as dopamine, histamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine which are the examples of the amines. We feel happy about something because of the neurotransmitter called dopamine that our brain lets us know something feels good. In plants amines are found as alkaloids.

S.No. | AMINE | IUPAC NAME | TYPE OF AMINE |
${\left( {C{H_3}} \right)_2}CHN{H_2}$ | 1-Methylethanamine | Primary amine
$C{H_3}{(C{H_2})_2}N{H_2}$ | Propan-1-amine | Primary amine
$C{H_3}NHCH{(C{H_3})_2}$ | N-Methyl-2-methylethanamine | Secondary amine
${\left( {C{H_3}} \right)_3}CN{H_2}$ | 2-Methylpropan-2-amine | Primary amine
${C_6}{H_5}NHC{H_3}$ | N-methylbenzenamine or N-methylaniline | Secondary amine
${\left( {C{H_3}C{H_2}} \right)_2}NC{H_3}$ | N-Ethyl-N-methylethanamine | Tertiary amine
$m - Br{C_6}{H_4}N{H_2}$ | 3-Bromobenzenamine or 3-bromoaniline | Primary amine |
