Here, in this question, we have to write a letter to the school’s principal. So, here we will be writing a formal letter. Formal letters are written in a formal and in structured language and formal letters follow a stipulated format.
We write formal letters for official purposes only. For example, letter to the manager; letter to the principal of school or college; letter to the editor of the newspaper, etc.

Respected Sir
Subject – Please grant me leave for 3 days.
I am Varun Chawla, a student of class XI -Commerce – A. I was not feeling well for the last few days even though I took half day from school because of health issues. On 22nd June 2021, I visited the doctor and he asked me to take complete bed rest for 3 to 4 days as I am affected with viral fever otherwise my condition will worsen.
As I am down with viral fever and due to this fever I'm not able to carry out my regular activities. So, I request you to grant me leave for 3 days that is from 24 June 2021 to 26th June 2021. Thank you for your consideration.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely
Varun Chawla
