Hint: The acne and pimples are caused due to the hormonal reaction. There is a surge of hormones in young people, especially when puberty hits. This surge stimulates the oil-secreting glands, which start producing heavy amounts of oil, resulting in the clogging of pores.

Step by step answer:Acne is a type of skin condition in which there are different kinds of bumps formed on the skin. These bumps can be of different kinds like pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, or sometimes cysts.
When puberty hits then there is a surge of the hormones in our body. This is because the body starts attaining sexual maturity. The hormones cause several kinds of changes in our bodies. One such change is that the hormones stimulate our sebaceous glands or the oil glands to produce more sebum.
The sebaceous glands are present in the hair follicles, or the pores of our skin cells. These glands produce sebum. The sebum lubricates our skin and hair and makes them oily. At puberty the hormones cause our sebaceous glands to produce more and more sebum. This excessive sebum clogs the pores of our skin. And these clogged pores form the various skin conditions that are known as the acne.
After puberty, the surge of the hormones is stabilized in the bodies, so the growth of acne and pimples is considerably reduced.
Thus, the secretion of hormones in young people causes the excessive production of sebum, which causes acne and pimples.

Note: The difference between the various kinds of skin acne is as follows –
Whiteheads are caused when the pores get clogged and closed up and they bulge out of our skin. However, if the pore is clogged, but it's opening does not close, i.e., it remains open, the top surface darkens and causes the blackheads. If the wall of the pore ruptures and opens, then it gets subjected to the sebum and bacteria. Due to this, the dead skin is forced to move upwards. This dead skin then appears on the surface of the skin as a small, red lump which we call a pimple. Sometimes pimples also have pus-filled in their tops. This is because of the body’s reaction to the bacterial infection. Cysts are the clogged pores that are embedded very deep in the skin. They cause nodule-like structures on the skin. They are bigger in size compared to the pimples and are also painful.
