Chapter 4 of RD Sharma for class 7 deals with Rational numbers. A rational number is a very important and as well as interesting chapter. Here students will learn about fractions, rational numbers are numbers that can be written as fractions. In more mathematical terms, rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed in the form of p/q, where p and q are both integers and q is not equal to zero. For eg: 0.5 is a rational number as it can be written as 1/2. On the other hand, √2 cannot be expressed in the form of p/q, where p and q are both integers. So it is not a rational number.

To have a strong understanding of Rational numbers, students must go through the textbook and try to understand the properties. Once that is done students should solve RD Sharma questions to check their concepts.

Benefits of solving problems :

You have probably heard the phrase, "Practice makes perfect." This is especially true when it comes to mathematics. Math is one of those subjects in which the more you practice, the more solid your concept becomes. The following are some of the advantages of solving problems:

  • Simply reading theory is insufficient since it does not provide students with a practical approach. When working on problems, students use concepts in a more practical way. As a result, it creates a good conceptual understanding.

  • Students can see how math is used in real life when they solve problems.

  • When a student understands a solution to a problem, the students will easily tackle problems with a similar solving approach.
