RD Sharma Class 9 Solutions Chapter 4

‘Algebraic Identities’ is Chapter 4 of Class 9 of RD Sharma. In this chapter, students learn about algebraic identities and algebraic equations. The algebraic equations are valid for all values of variables in them and are called algebraic identities. Algebraic Identities are mainly used for the factorization of polynomials. Hence, algebraic identities are widely used in the calculation of algebraic expressions and solving different polynomials. Students have already learned about a few concepts in the junior classes before. In Class 9 Algebraic Identities there is an introduction to many more standard algebraic identities, along with their examples.

Students will learn that Algebraic identities are the type of algebraic equations which are always valid for every value of variables in them. Algebraic identities contain variables and constants on both sides of the equation. In an algebraic identity, the right side of the equation is equal to the left side of the equation.

For example,

(a+b)² = a²+2ab+b² , that is true for all the values of a and b.

In the next section, students will learn that all the standard Algebraic Identities are derived from the Binomial Theorem. The Binomial Theorem is defined as a way of elaborating a binomial expression raised to a large extent. A polynomial equation having just two terms generally having a minus or a plus sign in between is known as a Binomial expression. Students will understand different concepts of identities which will help them in future classes for a better understanding of equations. In this chapter, students will go through various equations and formulas and many examples to try on. RD Sharma book has every solution for the questions and concepts for Class 9 Chapter 4.

RD Sharma Class 9 Chapter 4.3 Exercises

In this exercise, students will mainly focus on the cube of binomial expressions. Students will understand the formulas, methods, and expressions for solving the binomial expressions having cubes value. Students will also learn how to find the cubes of binomial expressions and how to solve the expressions and equations having cubes.

For Example,

Find the cube of the following binomial expression: 1/x + y/3.
