Ricky Martin Biography

Ricky Martin or Enrique Martin Morales is a Puerto Rican songwriter and singer who is known as the “God of Latin Pop” and “King of Latin Music". Apart from being a pop singer, he is also a music producer, author, actor, and humanitarian. He was seen in commercials at the age of six, and Ricky Martin was also associated with the all-boy pop band Menudo from the age of twelve. Throughout the 1990s, he released various Spanish pop albums after being associated with the pop group for about five years as a teenager.

Then with “She Bangs” and “Livin La Vida Loca,” he started to top the pop charts and started with a vivid career as a solo artist. With over seventy million records sold worldwide, he soon became one of the most influential and best-selling Latin artists of all time.

Association Of Martin With Menudo And Early Life

Until Martin turned 18, as a teenager, he was part of a musical pop group known as Menudo. At a very young age of six, he appeared on local television commercials. In 1984, he was finally selected as a member of teen music band Menudo after auditioning three times for it. During these years with Menudo, Ricky Martin sang in various languages while touring around the world. As soon as he reached the age limit of the group, which is 18, he finished high school and shifted to New York to pursue a singing and solo acting career. He was born to Enrique Martin Negroni, a psychologist, and Nereida Morales, a private accountant, on 24th December 1971 in the San Juan municipality of Puerto Rico. Back in 2010, he went public about his homosexuality and revealed that he was proud of it. In 2016 while giving an interview at Ellen DeGeneres talk show, he confirmed his relationship with Jwan Yosef, an artist raised in Sweden and Syrian by birth. He confirmed his marriage by 2018, and by winter of that year, he had his daughter Lucia followed by another son named Renn by late 2019. He even founded a child advocacy organization speaking for child education and rights by the name of Ricky Martin Foundation in 2000.
