Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana- KVPY

KVPY which is the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana was started by the department of science and technology (DST) in the year 1999 with only one goal which was to encourage the students to be interested in basic science. The main motive of this scholarship program was to encourage and uplift the students to pursue their careers in the research field. The KVPY program aims at helping the students and the country by giving it the best talents for research and development.

 

The contingency grant or the scholarship is provided to the merit KVPY students up to the pre Ph.D. level. The entire responsibility of conducting the KVPY scholarship exam for the eligible students is held by the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc). The eligibility requirements for the KVPY exam in 2022 include minimum marks, nationality, and maximum age for the KVPY exam. In order to apply for a stream, students must meet the KVPY 2022 eligibility requirements. 

 

For qualified students who wish to pursue a career in science, the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a national-level scholarship exam. Age Limit for KVPY 2022

In order to apply for SA, SB & SX at IISc, Bangalore we do not have a minimum age requirement. To be eligible for KVPY, we must be either in Class 11, 12, or 1st year of our undergraduate studies.

 

Minimum Marks for KVPY Eligibility in 2022

In class 12th exams, you must score at least 60% in mathematics and science (and 50% in SC, ST, and PWD subjects).

 

The KVPY Eligibility Criteria for the SA Stream for 2022

  • During the year 2021-22, only students enrolled in KVPY SA with Science subjects are eligible for this stream.

In order to qualify for KVPY 2022, an individual must have scored at least 75% of the marks in math and science in his/her class 10 exams (65% for SC/ST/PWD).

 

Eligibility Criteria for the KVPY SX Stream for 2022

  • For the KVPY SX stream, students are required to enroll in the 12th standard with science subjects during the years 2021-22. OR Cambridge International Examination Board second-year students must be studying.

Moreover, to qualify for KVPY exam eligibility criteria 2022 for SX, the student must have scored a minimum of 75% in mathematics and science in the 10th standard (65% for SC/ST/PWD).

 

Criteria for Eligibility for KVPY SX Fellowship

  • Student selection is based on a cumulative mark of 60% in maths and science in 12th class exams (50% for SC/ST/PWD).

For the fellowship, a student must enter one of the Basic Sciences programs (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in the semester of 2022-23.

 

Eligibility Criteria for the SB Stream of the KVPY for 2022

  • Students who are eligible to apply for entry into a Basic Sciences program in the first year of their studies (B.Sc./B.S./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./International M.Sc./International M.S.) in the Academic Year 2021-22 can apply for KVPY 2022.

Minimum 60% marks in maths and science in the 12th grade (50% for SC/ST/PWD).

Students who qualify for fellowships must score 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in their 1st-year final exam.
