Solutions to NTSE MAT 2020 for Assam

NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) conducted by the National Council of Education Research and Technology (NCERT), is a scholarship test conducted for identifying the bright students wanting to pursue their higher education in science and social science. The Stage-1 of the exam was conducted on 13th December 2020 for 11 states including Assam and you can find the answer key of Assam MAT here.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students studying in Class X, in local or govt schools 

  • All candidates must score a minimum of 40 percent in Class 9

  • They must have Indian nationality

  • All candidates who opted for open schooling can also appear

  • All candidates must not be employed 


Application Form for the NTSE Assam Examinations 

All candidates must visit the official website, and print a copy of the application form as well as the admit card. They must fill in the credentials and attach their photographs attested by the authorities of their respective schools. The same must be submitted to the authorities.

1. How to Prepare for NTSE Assam 2021-22 Exam?

For preparing well in the NTSE Examinations, each student must keep in mind the below-mentioned tips:

  • The student must prepare a well-organised study schedule and give equal emphasis on each topic.

  • A strategy must be built after doing a thorough analysis of the NTSE syllabus.

  • The course must be completed as soon as possible by referring to the best books for the NTSE examinations.

  • Ensure that all the essential topics are highlighted. Make use of summary notes as it can help in revision.

2. Are solving previous year papers important for the NTSE Examination?

It is very important for each student to solve the NTSE Question papers of each year. This is because it enables all students to know the exam pattern as well as it gets the students acquainted with the standard of the examination paper. Further, it helps teach the students the technique of time management, which is very effective in completion of the paper in the allotted duration. The marking scheme also becomes familiar to the student if they attempt these papers.

3. When will the stage one examination be held?

The stage 1, that is the state level exam, is usually held in all the states as well as the union territories on the Second Sunday of November. However, in Nagaland, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Island and Mizoram, the exam is conducted on the second Saturday of November each year, until and unless there are some unavoidable special circumstances that occur.

4. Will I be getting the SAT and MAT question booklet for stage one in my respective State Language?

The NTSE stage one examinations are held at the state level. Therefore, the test booklets are available in many state languages. For students from Assam it is available in Assamese, Bengali for students of West Bengal, Gujarati for students of Gujarat, and  Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu for students of Kerala. However, the question booklets are also available in Hindi, English, and Urdu. The student may opt for the language they wish to appear in as per their respective state.

5. Are students studying abroad eligible for the NTSE examination?

There are geographical restrictions for appearing in the NTSE examinations. Students who are of Indian nationality and are studying abroad in Class 10 are eligible for the NTSE examination, provided that the students have scored minimum 60% in the previous examinations. However, the students from abroad have to appear in the NTSE centre alloted in India at his or her own cost. Such students are exempted from stage one examination and can send an application request through the head of their institution to the Head Educational Survey Division, NCERT, New Delhi- 16.
