CPO Full Form in Police Services

CPO full form is the Central Police Organisation. Often, the terms SSC and SSC CPO are used interchangeably, however, to state clearly, SSC, the Staff Selection Commission, is the organization that conducts the exam SSC CPO to recruit Sub-Inspector officials for the Police department of India. SSC CPO full form is the Staff Selection Commission exam for Central Police Organisation. It is a national-level examination and candidates from all parts of the country, who meet the eligibility criteria for this exam, can take this exam. 

The exam is conducted once every year and candidates who are recruited through it are appointed to departments in police, like ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police), BSF (Border Security Force), CRPF(Central Reserve Police Force), CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces), SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal). The Staff Selection Commission was formed in 1995 to facilitate the recruitment process of Group C and Group D staff in the police department. SSC CPO Exam Dates

The Staff Selection Commission for the Central Police Organization is yet to announce the date of examination for 2021. However, the exam was conducted from 23 November to 26 November in the previous year. The results and final list of qualifying candidates in the SSC CPO exam 2020 were released this year.


Eligibility Criteria for SSC CPO

To appear in the SSC CPO exam every aspiring candidate must meet the below-listed eligibility criteria.

  • Age: The lower age limit for the candidates aspiring to take the Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization (SSC CPO full form) examination is 20 years, and the upper age limit is 25 years. Any general category candidate who does not meet the above-given age criteria will not be allowed to take the examination. 

Note: For candidates belonging to the reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, there is a relaxation for the age limit. Candidates belonging to the OBC category have an age relaxation of 3 years, whereas, those belonging to the SC and ST categories have an age relaxation of 5 years. 

  • Nationality: Aspiring candidates must be Indian citizens.

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates aspiring to take the SSC CPO examination must complete their graduation degree course from a recognized or deemed university of our country.


SSC CPO Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization (full form of SSC CPO) examination evaluates candidates in several stages. There is a theoretical test as well as a practical test in the selection process of SSC CPO. Candidates have to appear in a Prelims paper, Mains paper, and a physical endurance test in this exam. Those who qualify in the Prelims paper become eligible for the Mains paper. Only multiple-choice type questions are asked in the Mains paper. Finally, the candidates who meet the passing marks criteria in the Mains paper, qualify for the physical endurance test stage of the SSC CPO exam. The difficulty level of the Physical Endurance Test differs for males and females, keeping in view the difference in standard height and weight for adults.

SSC CPO Exam 2021 Results

The SSC Central Police Organization exam (CPO full form in SSC) result will be published in an online mode and candidates can visit the official website of www.ssc.nic.in to check their results. They will have to log in using their usernames and passwords on the above website to check the results for the SSC CPO exam. The registration numbers of candidates are their usernames, whereas their SSC registration passwords can be used to log on to their registered accounts. After logging in successfully, they will have to click on the link for SSC CPO 2021 results and their scorecards will be displayed on the screen.    


Vacancy Distribution in SSC CPO Exam 2021

The vacancy distribution of seats to be filled through the Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization are subject to change on a yearly basis. The vacancy distribution depends on several factors like the requirement of Sub-Inspector officials in the various departments of police, the total number of candidates taking the examination, the cut-off criteria for passing the examination, and so on.
