Full Form of ID

ID full meaning is identity document which is a document that may be used to prove a person’s identity. It is usually known as an identity card or passport card if issued in a small, standard credit size card form. Some countries issue formal identity documents such as national identification cards which may be compulsory or non compulsory, while others may require identity verification using regional identification or informal documents. When the identity document includes a photo, it is known as a photo id.

ID Full Name

An ID full name identity document is used to link a person to information about the person, often found in a host country information system. The photo and the ownership of it are used to identify the person with the document. The link between the identity document and the information given in the database is based on the person's personal information present in the document such as the person's name, age, birth date, identification number, card number, gender, citizenship, and more. A unique identification number is the most secure way to prove citizenship, but some countries lack such numbers or do not mention them on identity documents.

Identity Document Uses

The identity document is used for multiple purposes such as :

  • To get a sim card for a mobile phone

  • To enjoy government benefits

  • To apply for a passport

  • For domestic and international tour

  • To open a bank account

Arguments for Identity Documents

ID long-form Identity documents have certain arguments. These are:

  • The identity document is a secure way to prove a person's identity to avoid conflict between people and to fight fraud.

  • Every citizen has their identity in the form of DNA, which is extremely difficult to manipulate or discard. Even for non-governmental or personal interaction, this may easily become a preferred identifier, offering a state-issued identity card as less corrupt than the extensive privacy risk associated with everyday use of a person's genetic profile for identification purposes.

Arguments for National Identity Documents

If using only private alternatives such as ID issued by banks, the integral lack of consistency related to the issuing policy can create issues later.  For example, In Sweden, private companies such as banks ( specifying security reasons) refuse to issue ID cards without having a Sweden card. This compels the Government to issue national identification cards.

Identity Documents Arguments Against

  • The development and administration cost of the identity card system can be very high.

Arguments For National Identity Documents

Instead of depending on government-issued ID cards, US federal policy has the option to encourage several identification systems that already exist such as private cards or drivers or firearms licenses.
