The NABH full form, National Accreditation Board For Hospital & Health Care Providers, is the constituent board of the Quality Control Board of India, set up to establish and manage accredited programs for healthcare organizations. The board is formed to fulfil the much-desired needs of consumers and to set a benchmark for the development of the health industry. The board, despite being supported by all stakeholders including consumers, industry, and government, has complete functional autonomy in its operations. 

Established in 2005, NABH is the principal accreditation for hospitals with its headquarters located in New Delhi, India.

NABH History 

NABH abbreviation  National Accreditation Board For Hospital & Health Care Providers was established in 2006 as a constituent of Quality Control of India. The first edition of the NABH standard was issued in 2006 and after that, the standard has been revised every three years. 

Malabar Institute of Medical Science (MIMS), Kerala was the first hospital to be accredited by NABH. It is a multispeciality hospital with 650 beds and was accredited in 2007 and till now more than 350 hospitals in India have achieved accreditation by NABH. Gandhinagar was the first hospital to achieve NABH accreditation in 2009.
