Bank PO full form Probationary Officer. It is a managerial level position that is offered in different Public sector and Private sector banks across India. Probationary officers are trained in different sections like Accounting, Billing, Financing, Investment, and so on. The main duties of the Probationary officers include handling customer complaints, issuing ATM cards, cheque books, rectifying undue charges and discrepancies in accounts.

IBPS PO Full Form

IBPS PO full form is the Institute of  Bank Personnel Selection Probationary Officer. The IBPS is a public sector bank personnel and recruitment agency under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It was established to encourage the recruitment and placement of young undergraduate and postgraduate students in Indian Public Sector Banks. IBPS PO exam is conducted every year for the recruitment of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in the participating banks which are National Sector Banks.


RRB PO Full Form

RRB PO full form is Regional Rural Bank Probationary Officer. RRB PO is an exam conducted for the post of Probationary Officer or Officer Scale-1 in Regional Rural Bank. Regional rural banks are specific to a specific state/region, hence with RRB PO you will be transferred mostly within your state, this would provide you with an opportunity to stay near your hometown.


Role of Probationary Officers in Bank

A bank PO will be answerable to his immediate senior officer who will further examine and judge the performance of the PO for the specific time duration. The bank PO works in different areas such as the loan department, mortgage, and finance division of the department. The Probationary Officer manages the customer's complaints and addresses their issues and doubts. Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and skillfully handling the customers are the key requirements of Bank PO.

He will be further promoted to the position of Assistant Manager after the confirmation of his/her position. He is prepared to work anywhere in the country as per the service rule of all public sector banks. The probationary period of the PO generally involves working in each department for 3-4 months each.

IBPS PO And RRB PO Eligibility Criteria

The age limit for candidates applying for IBPS PO is between 20 to 30 years of age, whereas the age limit for the candidates applying for RRB PO is above 18 years and below 30 years for Officer Scale - 1, above 21 years, and below 32 years for Officer Scale-II, above 21 years and below 40 years for Officer Scale - III, and above 18 years and below 32 years for Officer Assistant (Multipurpose).

Candidates applying for IBPS PO need to graduate, Even freshers are eligible for this post, whereas, for RRB PO, candidates need to graduate with proficiency in regional language. However, freshers are eligible only for Scale -I post. For Officer Scale-II and III, candidates need to have experience. 


 IBPS PO And RRB PO Examination Pattern 

Both IBPS PO and RRB PO have three stages namely preliminary examination, main examination, and interview. However, the examination pattern for both the exams is different for both posts.  In IBPS PO, the preliminary examination consists of three sections namely English Language ( 30 marks), Reasoning ability ( 35 marks), and Quantitative Aptitude ( 35 marks). The total time allotted is 60 minutes. On the other hand, in the RRB PO preliminary exam, the question paper is of a total of 80 marks, with 40 marks each for Reasoning ability and 40 marks for Quantitative Aptitude. There is no English language section in RRB PO preliminary examination. The total time to complete the examination, in this case, is 45 minutes.


CRP RRB Full Form

CRP full form is Common Recruitment Process Regional Rural Banks. The success of CRP for Public Sector Banks encourages regional Rural Banks to conduct a common examination for themself. Hence, Cormon Recruitment Process for RRB was introduced in 2012-13 for the recruitment of Group “A” - Officers Scale  (I II & III), and Group “B” for Office Assistant (Multipurpose).
