Full Form of TOI

The TOP full form, Times of India is an English language daily newspaper and digital news media owned and operated by the Times Group. It is the largest selling daily English newspaper in the world and the third-largest selling newspaper in India. It is the second-oldest Indian English newspaper still in circulation, with its first edition published in 1838.

The rank of the Times of India stood at the 88th position. It was India's most trusted brand. However, in 2017, the newspaper was ranked 355th.

A Brief History of Times of India 

The first edition of Times of India was published on November 3, 1838, as The Bombay Times and Journal of Commerce. The newspaper was first published on Wednesdays and Saturdays under the guidance of a Maharashtrian social reformer named Raobahadur Narayan Dinanath Velkar and contains news from Britain and the World. Also, it consists of news from the Indian Subcontinent. The first editor of Times of India was J.E.Brennan. In 18550, the newspaper soon began to publish new editions.

In 1861, editor Robert Knight changed the name from Bombay Times and Standard to the Times of India. In 19 century, the Times of India employed more than 800 people and had a conceivable circulation in both India and Europe.
