International Happiness Day

The World Happiness Report is the most comprehensive, scientifically-based study of measurable aspects of happiness. Happiness is often thought of as a subjective emotion that may be elicited regardless of external conditions. However, for the most majority of people, there are numerous requirements that must be met in order for them to be happy. The World Happiness Report is identifying them and demonstrates a solid statistical link between people's living situations and their subjective well-being. It's important to note the word statistical here because even in paradise on Earth, some individuals are unhappy.

The World Happiness Report analyses 156 countries and assesses the level of global happiness as well as how happy their populations believe they are. Finland is the happiest country in the world, according to the 2018 World Happiness Report. In this regard, it's worth noting that the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden), as well as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, are consistently in the top 10, albeit in different positions each year. The top of the list changes, but the top ten remain constant, a remarkable feat implying that it is not coincidental and has a long-term average.

However, Finland's position as the happiest country in 2018 has its own unique component that merits more examination. This is owing to the fact that Norway, Canada, Iceland, and Australia are among the top ten happiest countries in the world, with vast natural resources to support their people's happiness. This makes laying the material foundations for happiness a lot easier. Finland, on the other hand, has almost few resources. Finland's climate is without a doubt the harshest and most inconvenient of all. With those natural disadvantages, achieving the title of the world's happiest country is nothing short of remarkable, and even more so.

In comparison to previous editions, the World Satisfaction Report 2018 expands on the previous methodology by integrating data on immigrant communities' happiness levels. This is critical because immigrants act as a kind of "external observers" in native society, providing a unique perspective on how the society functions and treats outsiders.

In 2019, the World Happiness Report focused on happiness and community: how happiness has changed over the last decade, with an emphasis on the technology, social norms, conflicts, and government policies that have influenced those changes.

World Happiness Day Report 2021

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network's World Happiness Report 2021, released on Friday, acknowledged the toll that the coronavirus pandemic has taken on people's general happiness and well-being. Finland was named the happiest country in the world for the fourth year in a row in the survey. Second, third, fourth, and fifth place went to Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, and the Netherlands, respectively. Afghanistan was recognized as the unhappiest country in the world. In the report, India was placed 139th out of 149 countries. India was placed 144th out of 156 countries in the 2020 report. Pakistan was placed 105th, China 84th, Sri Lanka 129th, and Bangladesh 101st among India's neighbors.

People who are joyful are also thought to live longer and have fewer health problems. People who are happier are less likely to have high blood pressure or cardiac problems. Happiness is still being studied and researched, as is how to locate or raise happiness levels. Thus, international happiness day is a day to celebrate your own and other people's happiness, as well as to make others happy. Recognize the significance of happiness in your life and strive for it.
