Sita, Lord Rama’s wife, was not King Janak’s biological daughter: It is one of the Ramayana lesser-known facts that King Janak and Queen Sunaina are not the biological parents of Maa Sita. One day, when King Janak was ploughing the field, he found Sita.
Laxman didn’t sleep for fourteen years: Rama and Laxman were inseparable siblings, and they were also the epitome of brotherly adoration and care. These brothers were wedded to Sita and Urmila, and they were sisters again. At a time when Laxman accompanied Rama to exile, Urmila reluctantly agreed. How squirrels got the stripes: When Vanarsena, composed of bears and monkeys, built a bridge so that Rama and his team could reach Lanka for rescuing Sita, small squirrels began their work. They were carrying pebbles in their mouths besides some sand and mud on their backs for adding to the materials for building the bridge. When Vanarsena saw this, they made fun of them and also warned them to remain safe. Soon Ram observed the actions of the squirrels. He scooped one of them into his palm for running his fingers onto their backs. He also praised their contribution. From here, the squirrels got their stripes.
Rama is an incarnation of Vishnu, and there are some similar facts about Rama’s brothers, Laxman, Bharat, and Shatrughan, too: Rama is an incarnation of Vishnu and Lakshman is an incarnation of Sheshnag. Again, Bharat is the incarnation of Sudarshan Chakra, while Shatrughan is the incarnation of the conch shell. Lord Vishnu carries them all.
Laxman laughed non-stop at the coronation of Rama: Laxman was staying awake for fourteen long years, and after defeating Ravana, Rama, Sita, and Laxman reached Ayodhya, and this is the day when Diwali was celebrated. The bow that was used in Sita’s Swayamvar belonged to Lord Shiva: Everyone’s aware that Rama got married to Sita when Sita’s father, King Janak, arranged a swayamvara for her. Every prince from close and distant countries had come to take part in the Swayamvara ceremony. And they were asked to finish a job. There was a bow that was kept on a table, and that bow belonged to Lord Shiva, and its name was Pinak.
Hanuman applies sindoor over his body, seeing Sita: Once Lord Hanuman saw Sita Maa had applied sindoor to her hair. On seeing this, he asked her the reason for applying. This was when Sita told Hanuman Ji that wives do apply sindoor so that their husbands get a long life. Hence, she also applies sindoor. Hanuman, on hearing this, smeared his whole body with sindoor. Because of this, his body became orange, and it also means Bajrang. From this incident, Hanuman Ji was called “Bajrangbali”.
At the time when Sita was abducted: Rama was crying. He was also running from here and there. He also asked plants, trees, rivers, deer, flowers, etc., about her whereabouts. Lord Rama loved Sita dearly. Many times, Sita Mata mentioned that Vanavas turned into a boon for her as she got the chance to spend many years with her husband. Still, Rama asked Sita Maa to prove her purity. To this, Sita said that Rama was ordering this due to his unclear vision. Rama abandons Sita because he held the welfare of people to be more vital in comparison to his love for Sita. Rama went on to announce at the time of coronation that he would never hesitate to leave his close ones, like brothers or wife, for people’s sake.

1. Did Hanuman have a son?
Many people are still unaware that Lord Hanuman was the father of a son called Makardhwaja. When Hanuman Ji was coming back after setting the entire Lanka on fire, he cooled his burning tail by taking a dip in the sea. This is when one drop of his sweat fell on Makkara’s mouth, a mighty sea creature. This way, Makkara gave birth to a son named Makardhwaja. According to another belief, when Hanuman Ji was bathing in the sea, his seed got discharged because of excessive heat, and it fell into the giant sea creature’s mouth.
2. What resulted in the death of Laxman?
When Sita got sucked in, Lord Rama too made up his mind to end his life. And so, he called Kala to have a talk with him. However, he wanted to keep this meeting secret. Hence, he asked Laxman to guard so that no person could intercept this meeting. Kala had put a condition that if some person intercepts their meeting, then he or she would be killed. But Laxman did enter the room and accidentally intercepted the meeting. It was tough for Rama to kill Laxman, and so, he himself went to the river Sarayu to end his life. As Rama happened to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and Laxman was considered the incarnation of Sheshnaag, he had to go to Vaikuntha first, and Lord Vishnu followed him.
