The International General Knowledge Olympiad or IGKO is an international olympiad exam which is conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SFO) every year. The aim of IGKO is to develop an interest of students in the fields of General Knowledge and Current Affairs. IGKO is open to students in grades 1 to 10. IGKO Eligibility Criteria

A student is eligible to sit for IGKO if he/she:

• The student is studying in any recognised CBSE, ICSE or regional board.

• The student should be in grade 1 to 10 to participate in IGKO.

• The students who are in class X are allowed to sit for the exam and they will get an legitimate certificate if they pass. 

IGKO Exam Fees

A fee of Rs 125 (including 18% GST) is payable by each participating student for schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal, unless the student has a major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was killed during defence operations. Furthermore, the school may collect up to Rs 25 per student for the honorarium of the incharge, remuneration to teachers to teach, guide using SOF study material, and other miscellaneous expenses.

IGKO Application Process

The Science Olympiad Foundation’s International General Knowledge Olympiad is open to students in grades 1–10. All SOF-registered schools receive a prospectus containing registration forms. Schools that have not yet registered may request a prospectus by sending an email to info@sofworld.org or making a phone call. By the due date, schools must return the registration forms to SOF, duly filled out and complete in all respects.

The students' Roll Numbers will be generated by the school's coordinating teacher in accordance with the guidelines provided. A copy of these roll numbers, as well as the Students' Registration Sheet (SRS) and School Registration Form (SRF), should be sent to the Foundation's office before the form submission deadline.

The Foundation will register the applicant school and students, as well as send out question papers and guidelines for the examination. Please be aware, principals and teachers, that any school can be registered as a SOF IGKO centre. The institution does not charge a fee to become a registered examination centre. For practical reasons, each school must register at least ten students.

Students should only register through their schools. Individual student registrations are not accepted.

On Last week of November 2024, the Science Olympiad Foundation published the IGKO 2024 results on sofworld.org. Students must complete the following steps in order to view the results.

The student must first access the Social Olympiad Foundation's official website.

When the page loads, the student only needs to select the test, in this case, IGKO, and enter their roll number, after which the results will be displayed on the screen.

The findings presented on this page are precise and comprehensive.

The result sheet displays the candidate's name, the names of the candidate's parents, the student's registration number, the total marks received by the candidate, as well as their international rank, state rank, zone rank, and school rank. The qualifying status of the award and prizes is also noted on the result sheet.

Along with all of the aforementioned characteristics, the school name and address are also included, making the schools extremely easy to identify.
