3. Explain about the cartesian coordinates system and equation of a straight line.
As per the cartesian coordinate system, a plan which is made up of two number lines, which are perpendicular to each other which are represented in a graph with X and Y coordinates will be called a coordinate axis.
Equation of a straight line:
Basically, straight lines are used to draw lines on the cartesian planes.
Slope intercept form is used by the equation of a line
y = MX +b
where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.
M = change in y / change in x
4. What does the 3rd chapter Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables consist of?
Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables is the third chapter of CBSE Class 10 Math Book Solutions. The chapter discusses the pair of linear equations in two variables, algebraic methods of solving a pair of linear equations; this concept includes various methods like substitution, elimination and cross-multiplication method. You shall also come across a graphical method of solution of a pair of linear equations and equations reducible to a pair of linear equations in two variables. This chapter mainly focuses on how to solve pairs of linear equations by the graphical method, for this you need a graphical sheet to solve the questions and an algebraic method.
