For most students preparing to take up Science as their stream of choice in Std 11 must be aware that Physics demands proficiency of the basics learnt in previous classes for better understanding and faster learning of tougher concepts in the higher level. Because Physics demands a specific result, students in turn need to work on them through rigorous practice. Be it the laws of Physics, the theories or the principles or representing results numerically or graphically, students find it extremely hard to memorise so many concepts and formulae and hence fail to score the desired results out of stress and overload of information. So, without reading the text and solving the questions after every chapter or the examples in between topics, it is nearly impossible to understand the concepts.  The theories in Physics need more practical usage so that students are able to memorise the concepts clearly and easily retainable. Again, just mugging up the definitions of theories and principles is not totally helpful. Memorising definitions is only fruitful only when the student is able to successfully solve examples in chapters and mock papers as much as possible. For the mock/sample papers, do follow Vedantu for well-organised sample papers as per the syllabus by CBSE.

FAQs on Previous Year Question Paper for CBSE Class 12 Physics - 2013

1. Should we follow other resources apart from NCERT for CBSE Class 12 Physics?

The NCERTS have been designed in such a manner that the basics of concepts can be easily cleared through his textbook. The concepts have been nicely explained and are self-explanatory for easy learning and understanding. These NCERTS come handy when preparing for competitive exams like JEE Mains and UPSC. So for Physics, it is an apt book to follow for good results. In case of other study materials, the students can download the resources from Vedantu’s official website in the PDF Format for free.

2. What is the marking scheme of the CBSE Class 12 Physics Board paper?

The total marks of the CBSE Class 12 Physics paper (2013) is 70. The paper is divided section-wise with a total of 29 questions. Questions 1 to 8 are short type questions of 1 mark each. Questions 9 to 16 carry two marks each, 17 to 25 carry three marks each and lastly, question 27 to 29 carry five marks each. Certain absolute values of physical quantities are given in the question paper which can be used by students for calculation since calculators are not allowed.

3. Are sample papers important for CBSE STD 12 Physics Board exam ?

For papers that involve solving problems, mock/sample papers are the best solutions to your problems! It is a known fact that practice is what makes a man perfect so the more the students practice sample papers, the easier it becomes for them to move onto difficult and complex problems and faster to solve them as well. It might seem very disheartening if the results are not accurate but when the students analyse their areas of interest and areas of improvement, their anxiety and stress reduces drastically. So solve the sample papers by Vedantu experts and build a stronger foundation for better results.

4. How to retain formulae while answering CBSE Std 12 Physics Board paper ?

Creating one’s own way of learning information is very important when we have to do serious study. When there is too much information to remember, students should use memory techniques like flowcharts, diagrams and mind maps at their best. So writing short notes while the teacher teaches or while studying a chapter is very important since it reduces a whole concept into phrases and keywords for easier understanding. Students can simply go through the short notes ahead of the test.

5. Can practical experiments help understand theoretical concepts better for CBSE Std 12 Physics?

Science subjects are mainly practical-based so Physics needs to be practiced for the theory to be clear. This is the reason why Labs are helpful in doing the same. But ahead of the exam, students can only rely on the textbooks for the concepts which are mostly theory-based. So, a separate project/ assessment/ experiment test of 30 marks is included in the curriculum by CBSE and is extremely scoring if the concepts are clear. Besides it is always better to look at the processes which we only read in textbooks, it helps to remember a lot of things.
