Hint: Electric cell is a device in which a difference of electric potential is established between the two electrodes as a result of chemical reaction between the electrodes and the electrolytes . Single unit is known as a cell; a combination of several units connected electrically is known as a battery. Cells are of two types namely primary cells and secondary cells.

Complete step-by-step solution: -
The arrangement to join three electric cells inside the torch to glow the bulb is shown in the below diagram.

In the battery current starts from the positive terminal of the cell and will come up back into the negative terminal of the cell. If three electric cells are required to glow the bulb then the arrangement is correct when the positive terminal of one cell is attached to the negative terminal of the another.
This arrangement will work like current from one cell will leave and will enter into another cell there it will add with the current of the second cell and they both will leave and after that they will enter into the third cell. The sum of these currents will go into circuit from the positive terminal of the third cell.

Note: Student’s batteries should never be constructed from other than identical cells. Mixing of cells of different types, cells of different sizes, cells from different manufactures, or even manufacturing may give results ranging from simply unsatisfactory to disastrous.SI unit of current is amperes(v) and the flow of electric current in a conductor is due to flow of electrons.
