Hint:Revolutionaries Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw bombs at the Central Legislative Assembly at Delhi. The incident is known as the Central Assembly Bombing Case in Modern Indian History.
Complete answer:
On 8 April 1929, at around 12:30 PM, as the President of the Central Assembly (akin to today's Lok Sabha Speaker) Vithalbhai Patel began to give his ruling at the Assembly on the Trade Disputes Bill, an explosion occurred and smoke began to fill the space.
Slogans from the Visitors' Gallery were posed by young men, saying 'Inquilab Zindabad' and 'Workers of the World Unite' and 'Down with Imperialism.' Two young revolutionary freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt, heard the voices (also called B K Dutt). They flung pamphlets in the hall as well.
After the act, both of the men did not leave the scene or attempt to evade arrest. They were voluntarily captured.
Both of them were members of the Socialist Republican Association of Hindustan. As they claimed, their motive was not to kill or harm individuals, but to make the deaf hear.
The French anarchist, Auguste Vaillant, who bombed the French Chamber of Deputies in 1893, inspired Bhagat Singh, who masterminded the attack. For the act, Vaillant was executed.
Nobody was killed in the 1929 attack, and only a few people suffered minor injuries.
In fact, apart from protesting the controversial bills that were being passed in the assembly that day the revolutionaries only wanted to spread their ideas of revolution and encourage Indians to fight British imperialism.
Motilal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Madan Mohan Malaviya, John Simon (of the Simon Commission) and others were among those present at the Hall.
Even though both the bombs were dropped by Singh alone, both Singh and Dutt were arrested.
Therefore, Option C) 1929 is the correct answer.
Note:In May 1929, the trial began. Dutt was represented by Lawyer Asaf Ali while Singh defended himself during the trial. The verdict was pronounced in June and both Singh and Dutt were sentenced to 'lifetime transportation'.
