Hint: The earth is divided into different time zones as the countries are located in different locations spreading all over the world. Time zone refers to local time of a particular region or country. The reason for having a time zone is because of the expansion of transport and communication during the 20th century and that brings a necessity for a unified time-keeping system and this was the reason time zones were introduced to make life easier.

Complete answer:
There is a difference between Pacific time and Eastern time zone .
The Pacific time zone (PT) is a time zone comprising parts of Canada, western Mexico and the western United States.
TheEastern Time zone (ET) is a time zone comprising part or all of 23 states in the part of eastern Canada, the eastern part of United States , the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico, Panama in Central America , and Colombia, mainland Ecuador , Peru and a small portion of western most Brazil in South America , along with some Caribbean and Atlantic islands.
For eg :- If the time is 6:30 am as per pacific time then the time as per eastern time would be 9:30 am.
So we can see that the time as per the example is pacific time is 3 hours earlier than eastern time.

Hence the correct answer is option D.

Note:There are more than 24 time zones in the world with 1 hour apart . However the International Date line creates 3 more thus increasing the time zones.
During Daylight savings, the time zone name and time changes and the local time is usually set forward by 1 hour.
