Hint:The rank second constitutional head in the parliamentary system of Government of India is the Vice- President, the first one being the president who serves as the head of the nominal executive or of the state.

Complete answer:
Dr S Radhakrishnan was the first vice President of India. Under the first president Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr S Radhakrishnan was the first vice President of India from 1952 to 1962. After 1962 he also served as the second President of India succeeding Dr Rajendra Prasad till 1967. The vice President of India is the ex- officio chairman of the Rajya Sabha which is the upper house of the parliament of India. He presides over meetings and other businesses of this house. The election of the vice President of India is done by voting through secret ballot and through the single transferable vote by the members of both the houses of the parliament, as mentioned in article the 66 of the constitution of India. If a vacancy of the President arises due to resignation, impeachment or the death of the president, the office is then assumed by the vice president. The tenure for which the vice president of India holds office is for 5 years.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note: The resolution supported by the effective majority of the Rajya sabha and agreed by simple majority in the Lok Sabha can be passed for the removal of the vice President from the office and the notice should be issued 14 days prior to passing any such resolution.
