Hint: In our body, Veins are one type of blood vessels. It helps to collect deoxygenated blood from all parts of our body and returns to our heart. Arteries are another type of blood vessels that delivers blood from our heart to tissues of our body.

Complete answer : Have you ever wondered what is inside your heart? Everyone’s heart consists of four chambers, It has two upper chambers described as atria and two lower chambers known as ventricles. Just for better understanding, if you place your hand on your chest, you can hear your heartbeat. This happens because when the heart beats, the left ventricle contracts forcefully.
The heart is made up of blood vessels. They are part of our circulatory system. It helps to pump blood throughout our body. Our body has three types of blood vessels namely arteries, veins and capillaries. Arteries help to take away oxygenated blood from the heart. They look tough on the exterior. But interior layers are made of epithelial cells, which helps for faster blood flow. Inside arteries blood will be at high pressure. Due to this blood will be able to flow only in one direction. It cannot reverse back to the heart. So valves are not required in arteries. But it’s not the same with veins. Veins help to carry blood back to our heart from various parts of our body. Also, the blood flowing through veins is under less pressure. So, there is always a possibility for backflow. In order to prevent this condition, veins have valves. Valves make sure that the blood flows only in one direction via veins.
The attached image will give you a clear idea about how valves are present in veins.

Note:Veins carry blood away from the heart and arteries carry blood to the heart. Our body has three types of blood vessels namely arteries, veins and capillaries.
