Hint: Cyclones and Anti – Cyclones both are completely opposite to each other. The factor due to which they are completely opposite is Pressure. The Term Cyclone is coined by Henry Piddington. And the term Anticyclone is the term which is coined by Sir Francis Galton.
Complete Answer:
Cyclones: It is considered as the huge amount of air mass that rotates around the strong center of low atmospheric pressure. The spiraling winds of the cyclones move inward due to regions of low pressure. In case, if there is the largest low atmospheric pressure then there will be the production of cyclones on a large scale. Cyclones have also been seen on other planetary bodies like Jupiter, Mars, and Neptune. The process of formation of cyclones and intensification is known as Cyclogenesis. The life span of cyclones is of about two to six days. The process of Cyclogenesis depends on factors like warm sea temperature, atmospheric instability, humidity, etc. Small-scale cyclones include tornados, waterspouts, typhoons, hurricanes,s, and wind shear.
Anti – Cyclones: It is opposite to the cyclones. It is considered as the huge amount of circulation of winds in the central region of High Atmospheric pressure. Mostly they are developed due to tropical cyclones which are warm-core cyclones. As this cyclone is of high pressure, due to it skies become clear and no clouds are present there, therefore, solar radiation increases and thus temperature increases too. Its effect depends on its size, intensity, Coriolis force, and moist convection. This Anti – Cyclones are found on other planetary bodies like Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, etc. The Great Red Spot and Oval BA are found and seen on Jupiter. Anne's Spot is found on Saturn. The Great Dark Spot is found on Neptune.
Note: Cyclones and Anti – Cyclone both differ by the pressure. Cyclones have a low atmospheric pressure belt whereas Anti – Cyclones have a high atmospheric pressure belt. Both can be hazardous depending on the size and their intensity. Loss of life or property may be in danger due to these natural calamities.
