Hint: Amidst the time period of both the world wars, Germany and Italy gave in and surrendered tyrannical and dictatorial rule. In Germany authoritarianism became much more prominent as the Nazi party won which was headed by Adolf Hitler. The Nazis took advantage of the dissatisfaction Germans had for the failure of the first world war and promoted an agenda which was extremely nationalist and anti- semintic, this led to holocaust and the second world war.

Facism is a political ideology and system that involves thinking and speaking very highly of a nation and that the nation is always before any individual. Facism is often associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
 Among a lot a factor, the following are the most prominent factor that led to the rise of Facism :

A. Dissatisfaction after signing the Treaty of Versailles : Italy went against Germany by joining hands with the Anglo-French alliance and in return Britain promised Italy a huge amount of territory but only after victory. However, the vow was never fulfilled for a very long time. Italians felt betrayed and let down.

B. Economic problems : Both Italy and Germany were facing major economic problems which included heavy financial loss,joblessness, deficiency of food grains. There was a decline in progress on industrialization. Unemployment was on a rise and a lot of soldiers lost their jobs. Inflation was at an all time high. Agrarian riots were happening frequently.

C. Political problems : In 1919, democracy came to Italy. There was a lot of confusion and inconvenience after this as a lot of collision governments came to power which led to formulation of different policies but it lacked major consistency. The situations were similar in Germany

Note:The allied powers, USSR, Britain, France and USA played a huge role in ending facism. The victory of the allied powers and defeat of the axis powers, resulted in Hitler's and Mussolini’s death which eventually led to the end of facism.
