In our everyday lives, we see numerous tables, charts having figures and names in them. The information these tables carry is known as Data. Data, in a simpler form, is a collection and representation of numbers gathered to give a particular information. Presentation of data is very important for making it easily understandable. The Chapter Data Handling I (Presentation of Data) gives information about the steps which are followed in preparing the frequency distribution table for the data given.

So, a bar graph helps in data representation in a bit different manner.  In a bar graph or a bar diagram, bars of uniform width are erected horizontally or vertically with equal spacing between them. The length of the bar gives the required information and this representation makes it much easier for the readers to understand the data.
