UP Board Last 5 Previous Year Question Papers for Class 12 Physics

UPMSP Class 12 Physics Question Paper 2015-19

Question 1: If a storage battery has an electricity carrying potential of 12 V, having a 0.4 Ohm resistance, then the value of the maximum flow of current across the battery will be?

Solution: The current flowing in an electricity carrying battery is given by:

                                       i = \[\frac{E}{r+R}\]

Where,

E = Voltage

r = Internal resistance, and

R = external resistance

For maximum current flow, R = 0

So,     i  = \[\frac{E}{r+R}\] =  \[\frac{12}{0.4+0}\] = 30 A

Question 2: If 30 kV electrons produce X-Rays, then how we can obtain the following:

  1. Maximum frequency, and

  2.  λmin of X-Rays

Solution: We have E = 30kV = 30 x 103 V, vmax = ?, λmin  = ?

  1. vmax = ?

We know that E = hvmax

Where h = Planck’s Constant = 6.6 x 10-34Js, and

E = eV = 1.6 x 10-19  x 30 x 103

So, vmax = E/h= \[\frac{1.6 \times 10^{-19}\times 30 \times 10^{3}}{6.6 \times 10^{-34}}\] = 7.24 x 1018Hz

  1.  λmin  = ?

            λmin  = c/vmax

            => \[\frac{3 \times 10^{8}}{7.24 \times 10^{18}}\]

=>  λmin  = 0.04136 nm

Question 3: Refractive index of glass and diamond is 1.5: 2.4, respectively. Find the absolute refractive index ratio of diamond to glass.

Solution

Given:

Refractive index of glass, ng = 1.5,

Refractive index of the diamond, nd = 2.4

To find:

Refractive index (μ)of diamond with respect to glass ndg

So, ndg = nd/ng

  ndg = 2/4/1.5 = 1.6
