Early Life

Donald Trump’s date of birth is on June 14, 1946. Mr. Trump is the fourth child of real estate mogul Fred Trump of New York. Despite his family's fortune, he was expected to work the smallest jobs in his father's business and was sent to a military college at the age of 13 after misbehaving in school. When his older brother, Fred, chose to become a pilot, he became the favourite to follow his father after attending the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Fred Trump died of alcoholism at the age of 43, according to his brother, after which he avoided alcohol and smokes for the rest of his life. Before joining the company, Mr Trump says he went into real estate with a "little" ＄1 million loan from his father. In 1971, he inherited ownership of his father's huge portfolio of residential housing developments in the New York City boroughs, renaming the company the Trump Organization.

Mr Trump converted the dilapidated Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt and created the most renowned Trump property, the 68-story Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, after shifting his family's company from residential units in Brooklyn and Queens to glamorous Manhattan ventures. Running for President

Mr. Trump first indicated an interest in running for president in 1987, and he even ran as a Reform Party candidate in the 2000 election. He became one of the most vocal members of the "birther" movement after 2008, which questioned whether Barack Obama was born in the United States. Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii, so those claims have been fully discredited. Mr Trump finally recognised the charges were false, but he made no apology, as is usual for him.

Mr Trump did not officially enter the presidential race until June of 2015. Mr Trump ran a heated campaign under the slogan "Make America Great Again," promising to restore the American economy, construct a wall on the US-Mexico border, and temporarily stop Muslim immigration "until our country's officials can figure out what is going on." Despite enormous protests at his campaign events and the best efforts of his Republican opponents Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Mr Trump was declared the Republican Party's presumptive presidential nominee after the Indiana primary.

Winning Elections

Mr Trump's 2016 presidential campaign was marked by controversies, including the release of a 2005 recording of him making vulgar statements about women and charges that he was unfit to be president, including from members of his own party. But he promised his army of supporters that he would defy the polls, which largely showed him trailing Hillary Clinton, and that his administration would strike a blow against Washington's political establishment and "drain the swamp."

He said he would pull off "Brexit times ten" after being inspired by the successful effort to push Britain out of the European Union. Few predicted it as election day approached, despite his campaign receiving a late push from new controversies surrounding an FBI probe into his opponent's emails. When he and President Obama met for transition talks two days after election day, his supporters got a chance to meet him in the Oval Office as his stunning triumph was still sinking in across the United States. He is the first US president to have ever held elected office or served in the military, meaning he had already created history before being sworn in as President of the United States.

Impeachment

On December 18, 2019, Trump was impeached on two articles: abuse of power & obstruction of justice. The impeachment charges originated mostly from a phone conversation with Ukraine's newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, on July 25, 2019. During the discussion, Trump requested that the Ukrainian president looks into Joe Biden, Barack Obama's vice president and a Democratic presidential candidate in 2020. Rudy Giuliani, Trump's lawyer, had publicly accused Biden of removing former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin from office because he was investigating Burisma, a gas business. Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son, served on the company's board of directors.

On September 24, 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi started a formal impeachment investigation into Trump. Members of the House voted along political lines in support of impeachment just over a month later. The article on abuse of authority was supported by all but two Democrats, while the article on obstruction of Congress was supported by all but three Democrats. Neither article of impeachment against Trump received a single Republican vote. The Senate acquitted Trump on both charges on February 5, 2020, primarily along party lines.

Reelection Campaign

In his reelection campaign against Joe Biden in 2020, Trump decided to double down on his core issues of reviving the economy after the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, boosting job growth, taking an “America First” approach to trade and foreign policy, and taking a hardline stance on immigration. Despite the risk of coronavirus, Trump continued to hold large rallies, as he did during his 2016 campaign. To reduce risk, the majority of these gatherings were staged outside. Trump also said he was "all for masks," but he rarely wore one.

Trump continued to declare himself the "president of law and order" in the final days of his campaign, dismissing calls for police reform in the wake of racial injustice and police violence. Initially, the results on Election Day 2020 appeared to be in Trump's favour. Due to the pandemic, a record number of Americans voted early or by mail-in ballots, and the counting of those votes took days. The Associated Press and other news organisations declared Biden the winner after the fourth day of vote counting.
