GUJCET: How to Face the Entrance Test

GUJCET is an entrance test. It is held in Gujarat. It is a common entrance test that is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary board. You need to crack this test if you want to enroll in the B.Tech or Engineering courses in the state. It has value in other states too. Apart from this, Pharma courses, too, require you to pass the test. That is why students across the state need a GUJCET previous year paper to prepare for the test in an organized manner.

GUJCET: Little Details 

As already said, GUJCET is specific to Gujarat. As a result, the question is in Gujarati, the state official language. Apart from that, you also have the Hindi and English version of the same question. You will see this in a much more detailed manner when we provide you with past GUJCET question papers.

The duration of the exam is 3 hours. If you are a B.Tech or Engineering aspirant, you have to clear your Higher Secondary exam with a minimum of 45% marks. And in case you are eyeing for the B. Pharma courses, the same criteria will apply. 

If you get your hands on GUJCET exam papers, you will see that there are 120 questions in total. There are three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each of these sections will have 40 questions. The GUJCET question paper will also show you that for every correct answer, you will be awarded 1 mark. However, for every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The question will be in MCQ format. Follow the GUJCET papers of the last 10 years, you will see a pattern emerging from these MCQs.

GUJCET 2021 :

The GUJCET 2020 application window closed on 19th February 2020. We are hopeful that you didn't face any problem during your registration. 31st March is the exam date. Follow the GUJCET papers of the last 10 years thoroughly to understand the exam pattern. Your Higher Secondary books are the basis of GUJCET.  GUJCET tends to give less unpleasant surprises. However, that does not mean it is easy. You have to possess a great grasp on the fundamentals of the PCB subjects. If you turn the pages of the GUJCET question bank, you will notice that 90% of the questions can be answered correctly if you have read the textbooks thoroughly.

GUJCET Exam Tips :

Now that you know all about GUJCET, let us share with you some tips that can help you to crack GUJCET much more easily.

  • Do not get overwhelmed. GUJCET is not as tough as JEE. Calm your mind and brush up your knowledge gained during Higher Secondary.

  • Organise your study habits. Don't be haphazard. Take the GUJCET mock test, to acquaint yourself with the real test.

  • As they say, reach for the stars. Even if you fail, you will land on the moon. So practice for JEE and this will go a long way to help you crack GUJCET.

  • Do not target the questions. Target the concepts asked in the question. Follow GUJCET question bank. 

  • GUJCET cannot be passed by doing some magic. So, do not ask questions like - “Can I crack GUJCET with one month of preparation?.” You need to practice consistently for at least, 3 or 4 months.

  • GUJCET is an entrance test in Gujarat. Without passing it, you cannot enroll in Engineering or Pharma courses.

  • You must pass the HS with 45% marks to be eligible for this test. ( 40% for the reserved candidates)

  • There are 120 questions. 40 questions are from Physics, 40 from Chemistry and 40 from Biology.

  • Correct answer equals 1 mark. Incorrect answer equals negative 0.25 marks.

Some Myth Busters :

  • GUJCET can be given by a CBSE student. Do not worry about that.

  • GUJCET is not inferior to JEE. Yes JEE is harder. But passing the GUJCET requires a significant skill level too.

  • If you are a CBSE student, follow the NCERT books. They are enough for GUJCET.
