Overview: Jharkhand Polytechnic Exam 2022
Jharkhand Polytechnic Exam also called Polytechnic Entrance Competitive Examination(P.E.C.E.), is the state-level Polytechnic exam organized by the J.C.E.C.E. (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) every year. On qualifying the exam, the candidates can get admission into 11,230 seats of various engineering and non-engineering courses offered by the Polytechnic institutes in Jharkhand. Though, the P.E.C.E. exam 2022 was to be held in the last week of May earlier but is postponed now due to the Pandemic situation.
About Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board
J.C.E.C.E.B. is a self-financed autonomous body and was constituted under section 85 of the Bihar Re-constitution Act, 2000. It is entrusted with a responsibility to organize tests for various engineering and non-engineering courses provided by various colleges of the Jharkhand government. Also, the board members hold rights for taking the decisions regarding the examinations conducted by them as per the act, 2000.
Jharkhand Polytechnic Application Form
The application for the P.E.C.E. 2022 will be released online on the official website (tentatively) from July 2022. There are two parts to the application form. The first part is the registration part, wherein you have to fill in the basic details, including Name of the candidate, Father’s Name, Date of birth, photograph, and contact details. In all, the candidate needs to follow the following steps to submit the application successfully-
Part1-Registration
Go to the official website of J.C.E.C.E. and click on the P.E.C.E. 2022 tab.
Further, click on ‘Step 1-registration’.
Fill the details you are asked correctly.
Click on ‘Submit.’
A registration I.D. will be generated for the candidate.
Part2- Filling Application Form
Go to the same website and click on ‘Log in’.
Enter the generated I.D. and password( dob).
Fill all the slots of personal, educational, and other information accurately.
Click on the submit button.
The dates for the examination will be released online. The candidates need to keep themselves updated so that they can start the preparation on time. Still, the candidates can have a look at the tentative dates to have a fair idea of the gap between the announcement and the date of examination. Below is the chart showing the tentative dates.

The admit card holds a huge significance for the candidate as the candidate shall not be deemed to enter the exam hall without this. That is why it has to be preserved until the candidate gets admitted into the institution. The admit card can be easily downloaded from the official website and will not be sent to the candidate through any other means. These are the steps to download the admit card-
Go to the official website of J.C.E.C.E.B.
Click on the admit card tab.
Then select the J.C.E.C.E.B. 2022 from the ‘choose examination’ tab.
Fill the registration no. And click on the ‘submit’ button.
Here you have the admit card on the screen, download it by clicking on ‘download.’
Take a print out of the same and keep it till the end of the procedure.
Jharkhand Polytechnic Cut off
The cutoff is the minimum marks that are required to clear the exam and further participate in the further process of counseling and admission into the institution. Well, the cutoff marks of previous year papers let the candidates estimate the result of the present year against their performance and prepare for the processes accordingly. Jharkhand Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria
It is imperative to check the eligibility criteria before the candidate applies for admission to make sure he/she is eligible for the test. These criteria are based on various aspects like age, nationality, educational qualifications, residence, etc. Have a look at the basic eligibility criteria for the Jharkhand Polytechnic Exam 2022-
First of all, the candidate must be a citizen of India.
He/she should also have a domicile certificate of Jharkhand as it is a state-level examination.OR
He/she should be a ward of Central govt employees, working in Jharkhand OR ward of State govt. Employee ( Jharkhand).
Candidates must have passed high school with a minimum of 35%.
There is no upper or lower age limit. However, the aspirant choosing Mining Engineering needs to be above 17 years of age.
Jharkhand Polytechnic Exam Pattern
It is mandatory to have enough information regarding the pattern of the exam so that one can prepare accordingly. Candidates must note that the pattern makes a significant difference in the strategy of the preparation. Hence, knowledge of the pattern in detail is suggested. As far as Jharkhand Polytechnic Exam is concerned, it is an offline test having 150 questions.
The questions are asked in both the languages Hindi and English. The questions will be MCQ type having four options. The candidate has to choose one out of four as the correct answer by darkening the same circle in the OMR sheet. For each right answer, the candidate is awarded one mark, and a deduction of 0.25 is made for the incorrect answer. Lastly, the duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Jharkhand Polytechnic Result
The result of the PECE exam will be declared within 15-20 days after the examination. It will be declared online, and the candidates will have to download it from the official website. It will be available in the form of a scorecard, along with which a merit list will be released. This result is the basis of counseling and admission. Now, it is easy to download the result-

Jharkhand Polytechnic Counseling
Within a week from the declaration of the result, the counseling process will begin, and all the information regarding it will be shared with the candidates either through the official website or the Jharkhand newspapers. The candidates will have to pay some amount for the counseling registration, which can be made by a challan through the post office.
After that, the candidates will have to physically visit the institutions or centers allotted by the board. The number of rounds will mostly depend on the seats left after every round. At this point, a few documents have to be carried along by the candidate, without which the admission process cannot be completed. Admit cards and scorecards also come under them.

1. What details are entailed in the admit card?
The admit card is an essential document during the actual admission process and the examination as well. Following are the details mentioned in it-

If the candidate finds any discrepancies, he must report to the officials, as soon as he downloads it. In addition to this, the candidate must make sure he carries the admit card along with him on the day of the examination, else he would not be allowed into the examination hall.

After the result is declared and the seats are allotted, candidates will have to report at the center notified by the board along with the photocopy and original documents. The documents include-
Marksheet, passing certificate and admit card of class 10th
Residence certificate issued by the subdivision officer
Admit card and scorecard of Jharkhand Polytechnic 2022
Category certificate if required
Passport size photographs
Income certificate issued by the subdivision officer
Call letter if issued by JCECEB.

3. What are the options for exam centers?
The choice of the exam centers is provided to the candidate at the time of registration. However, the final choice will be made by the board, on the basis of ‘first-come-first-serve.’ Candidates can choose one of the following options mentioned below-
