There are thirteen seasons in the IPL tournament. The current IPL title holders are Chennai Super Kings representing the state of Chennai, who won the title in the year 2020. The venue for the IPL season 2020 held in UAE in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, while in 2021 the tournament came to a halt as the country faced a second wave of Covid-19.

There should be at least 16 players playing in a team.
There should be four overseas/foreign players in the playing XI squad.

Match rules
IPL matches run according to the television timeouts, thus there is no time limit in which teams can compete against the opponent team in their innings. A penalty may be imposed if the umpires find the teams misusing their privilege. Each team is given a strategic time out for two-and-a-half-minute during each innings. One must be taken by the team which is bowling between the ends of the 6th and 9th overs while one by the batting team between the end of 13th and 16th over.
Since the year 2018 season, the Umpire Decision Review System is in usage in all matches, this allows each team one chance to review the on-field umpire's decision per innings.

Prize Money
After each season, and after the winners win the game, the prize money is being distributed. In the 2019 IPL season, total prize money of ₹500 million (which is US$7.0 million) was offered. The winning team netted ₹200 million (which is US$2.8 million). While, the first and second runners-up received ₹125 million (which is US$1.8 million) and ₹87.5 million (which is US$1.2 million), respectively. Also, the fourth-placed team was also offered ₹87.5 million (which is US$1.2 million). The rest of the teams were not awarded any prize money. The IPL rules made it mandatory that half of the prize money is to be distributed among the players playing in the team.

Emerging player Award
This award is being presented especially to the "best under-19 player" and "best under-23 player". In the years 2011 and 2012, the award was known as the "Rising Star of the Year", while, in 2013, this award was called "Best Young Player of the Season". Since 2014, the award has been called the Emerging Player of the Year. The latest winner- Devdutt Padikkal in the year 2020.
Most sixes award
The Maximum Sixes Award, which is currently known as the Unacademy Let's Crack It Sixes Award (due to sponsorship reasons) is presented to the batsman who hits the most sixes in an IPL season. The latest winner was Ishan Kishan who won the award in the year 2020.

This award is given at the end of an IPL season. The latest winner is Trent Boult (2020)

Afterwards, in March 2010, IPL decided not to go public, and then it listed its shares. The channels MAX and SIX aired the broadcasts in the Hindi language, while SIX aired in other languages such as Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, and in Telugu languages.
