Syllabus for Class 1 ISC Chemistry

The Theory Paper (Paper 1) covers three main categories - Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

In Physical Chemistry, the Topics Included are:

  • Basic Chemistry Concepts

  • Structure of an Atom

  • Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties

  • Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure

1. What is the Class 11 ISC Chemistry portion?

The Class 11 ISC Chemistry portion is divided into 2 papers - theory and practical. Paper 1 covers Chemistry Theory, with the paper being divided into 3 parts. The first part covers Physical Chemistry, for a total of 32 marks in the exam paper. The second section is Inorganic Chemistry, which has a weightage of 15 marks in the exam. The last section of Paper 1 is Organic Chemistry, which carries a total of 23 marks in the exam. This brings the overall total number of marks for the theory portion of the exam to 70 marks. Then there is Paper 2, which is the practical part of the exam. In this portion, you will be expected to show ability in laboratory techniques according to the syllabus for a total of 15 marks.
