1. What are the eligibility criteria for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad?
Ans: The INMO is held on the third Sunday of January at 30 locations across the country by the MO Cell. Candidates must first attempt the PRMO exam, which is the Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad. After the PRMO exam, they should then go for the Regional Mathematical Olympiad in their own state or region. Each area selects approximately thirty students to write the INMO. The RMO's top performers (about 900 students) advance to the INMO's second level. These prelim exams happen at different schools across. They work as the centre for exams.
2. What topics are considered in the exams?
Ans: The Mathematics Olympiad is not an easy one. Since their motto is to find the best mathematical minds among the crowd, they take up the topics which fall under the category of tough topics. Topics like Algebra, Geometry, Number theory, Combinators, and Graph theory. The maths olympiad cell is very particular about its rules. They are strict about their regulations. No kind of calculating device is allowed during the exam. It is done to fairly evaluate every student taking this exam.

Ans: Students who pass the INMO test and attend the IMO Training Camp are assigned postal problems to solve and must complete them between July and December (if they are still in school). Some of the students will be invited to the IMO Training Camp the following year based on their comments. Others will have to rewrite the INMO from scratch (they do not have to write the Regional Mathematics Olympiad).
